Your slides stay on your device.

SlideLocal processes your images and presentation content locally in your browser. This notice explains the separate network requests that make the service work.

Images, text, and presentations

Your imported images, recognized text, edits, project backups, and PowerPoint exports are handled in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers for recognition, editing, or export. Downloaded .itppt backups contain your original images and edits; anyone you share a backup with can access that content.

Local storage

The editor uses browser storage to keep a local draft. Recognition assets may be cached by your browser. Drafts are specific to this browser and device. Clearing site data removes locally stored drafts and settings. Private browsing and limited storage can prevent drafts from being retained. Download a backup for important work.

Google sign-in

When you choose Google sign-in, Google handles authentication. Our account service receives the identity information needed to identify your account, such as your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image if provided. A session cookie keeps you signed in. Sign-in does not give SlideLocal access to your Google Drive files, Gmail, or slide images. Google’s own privacy policy applies to its authentication service.

Export allowances and abuse prevention

To apply daily free export limits, the browser creates a fingerprint hash from browser attributes and graphics-rendering signals. The raw attributes and graphics signals are hashed locally. Only the resulting hash is sent to our service; we do not send the raw fingerprint inputs, slide images, recognized text, or presentation content.

Our server uses a secret-key cryptographic derivation to turn the received hash into an abuse-prevention key. We also use a first-party browser cookie and export-allowance metadata, such as the UTC quota day and exports used, to apply the guest allowance. Signed-in allowances are associated with the account. These identifiers support limits and abuse prevention, not advertising, and we do not use a third-party fingerprinting provider.

This necessary quota mechanism is separate from optional Google Analytics. Rejecting analytics does not disable export-limit checks. A fingerprint hash is a pseudonymous identifier, not a guarantee of anonymity. Clearing cookies does not necessarily reset the allowance.

The guest allowance cookie lasts up to one year. Export-operation records are removed after their quota day is more than two days old. The service does not store raw IP addresses or fingerprint attributes in the quota database.

Subscriptions and payments

When checkout is available and you choose Pro, Dodo Payments handles payment collection and billing. We send your signed-in account name, email address, and an account reference to associate the subscription with your account. Dodo may collect payment and billing information under its own privacy policy. SlideLocal does not receive your full card details.

We retain customer and subscription identifiers, billing status, billing-period dates, and payment-event references to provide Pro access and reconcile billing updates. These records are separate from your local files. Images, recognized text, edits, and exported presentations are never sent to Dodo Payments.

Hosting and network requests

Your browser downloads the website, recognition software, fonts, and other application assets. Our hosting and authentication providers receive the technical information needed to serve these requests, such as IP address, browser information, request path, and time. These requests are separate from the local image-processing workflow.

Optional website analytics

If enabled for this site, an analytics choice appears on public information pages. Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It is off by default and never loads in the editor. Choosing “No thanks” makes no analytics request to Google.

When you consent, Google measures basic visits and session information for the homepage and guide, privacy, and terms pages. The page URL excludes query parameters and fragments, and we do not send the referring page. We do not send slide files, recognized text, account email, or a user ID. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Google receives technical connection information such as your IP address and browser information when its service is contacted.

Analytics cookies can remember a browser for up to 180 days. Your consent preference is kept in this browser for up to 180 days. Use the “Analytics: on” or “Analytics: off” control in the footer to change your choice. Turning analytics off stops further measurement on these pages and removes this site's analytics cookies; it does not retroactively delete data already received by Google. Google's privacy policy describes its handling of that data.

Your choices

You can use browser settings to remove site data and cookies. Keep a downloaded backup before clearing local data. Use your Google account’s third-party connections settings to revoke the sign-in connection. Revoking access does not remove files you have downloaded to your device.

This notice describes the current browser version. If data handling changes, this page will be updated.
